What is interesting is that Krishna’s owner, Boregowda, who owns BG Banduru Kuri farm in Mandya district, is being offered more than a crore for this indigenous breed of bull.
Krishna is 4 years and 7 months old and was first owned by Ravi Patel who sold him to Muthappa Rai from whom Boregowda purchased. Sharing the details with the media Boregowda said: “The calf was weak, so I purchased him for Rs.2.75 lakh. I fed him nutritious food, and now he is 6.5 feet in height, 8 feet in length, and weighs 900 kg. A farmer Papanna Gowda from Dasanadoddi village in Malavalli said he will pay Rs.1 crore. However, I want the bull to enter the Limca Book of Records, and then think of selling him if I get a good price.”
What makes Krishna special is that his semen stick sells for Rs.1,000 which is kept in a liquid nitrogen container. Boregowda is the only farmer in the country who sells Hallikar bull semen for breeding.

The Hallikar cow is prized as its milk has A2 protein which is recommended for patients with kidney-related ailments while it also helps in keeping diabetes and hypertension under check.
The milk and products made from it are sold at lucrative prices in the market. “Hallikar cows give around 2 to 3L of milk. I sell the milk for Rs.100 a liter, ghee for Rs.250 liter, and butter for Rs.1,600,” informed Boregowda.
