The incident transpired on 8th May and a First Information Report was registered on 14th May against a total of five persons, Wasim, Qasim, Dilnawaz, Kamil and Munna.

The accused Sarfaraz lives in the victim’s neighbouring village. Following the incident, the victim ran towards her village and narrated her ordeal to the villagers

Reportedly, these are the same accused who were also named in 2022 Naveen Mahadev's murder case

The family of the deceased minor also suspected that the accused had sexually assaulted the victim before killing her.

Locals grabbed the accused and turned him over to the police. The woman was brought to SSKM Hospital and declared dead upon arrival.

A member of the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board, in one of his videos, declared that "sending girls to schools and colleges alone is forbidden (Haram) in Islam."

Imam also said that since the Pakistani girl's donor was a Hindu, none of his good works would be recognized. He said that to obtain virtue, one must die as a Muslim.
